What to Do in Rome with Children
Travel to any destination with children can be a trying experience for any parent. There is however lots to see and do in Rome to keep your young ones occupied. Here, we give you some handy advice on what to see and do..
Rome for younger children
There are many sights and things to do for young children when in Rome. There are three recommendations however worth avisit that your little ones will find fascinating and give you a much deserved rest. The first amongst these is Explora. Located in Via Flamini, this is Rome’s Children’s museum and offers kids the opportunity to explore the world around them. There are soft play areas and museum staff supervise games and present audio visuals to attentive children. The Teatro San Carlino located in Borghese Gardens on Viale dei Bambini, is a puppet theatre along the lines of Punch and Judy. The Bioparco is also located in Borghese gardens which is also home to Rome Zoo. The park has lots of special areas for kids and they can marvel at the many animals from a variety of species whilst at the zoo.
Rome for Older Kids
Older kids are sure to enjoy Time Elevator, The Parco Dei Mostri,(Monster Park) and the Trevi Fountain. Time Elevator is an interactive movie that feels like a fairground ride and journeys through Rome from The Roman Empire through to the modern day city. Just an hours drive from Rome is Monster Park which displays huge sculptures of animals and ‘monsters’. Kids will love climbing on the backs of these creatures. Head back to the city and watch your children toss some coins into the Trevi Fountain. Car hire Italy is the most cost effective way of getting from one attraction to another, not to mention the independence to come and go as you please.
Rome for Teenagers
All teenagers love amusement parks and LunEur is sure to satisfy even the more hard to please teens. It is one of the largest amusement parks in Italy with many thrilling rides. Soccer mad teenagers will be delighted to know that the team shops of Rome’s biggest teams are located centrally. The AS Roma Store is located in Piazza Colonna whilst the Lazio shop is located near the Termini train station on Via Farini.
