In fact, renting a car is vital if you want to see some of the remote attractions in the Troödos Massif or the Tylliria wilderness. Fuel stations are plentiful and facilities for drivers excellent. Read on for all you need to know to make your Cypriot car rental experience a success.

  • Drive on the left.

  • Keep your driver’s licence and vehicle documentation in the car.

  • It is an offence to drive while using a hand-held mobile phone.

  • Seatbelts must be used by drivers and passengers.

  • The permissible blood/alcohol limit is 0.02%

  • It is illegal to eat or drink while driving.

  • It is illegal to smoke in the car if there is a passenger aged under 16 .

  • You must carry a warning triangle in your vehicle.

  • Children under 12 cannot travel in the front, and children under 10 must have appropriate child restraints.
