No. 1: Asheville, North Carolina
Tucked away in the foothills region of western North Carolina, Asheville is a magnificent spot for leaf-peeping. Make the most of the stunning views by biking along one of the many trails in the Appalachian Mountain, or hop in your rental car for a scenic drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Don’t rush it though: You’ll have to make multiple stops to admire the views. The best time for seeing autumn leaves is from mid to late October.
No. 2. Boston, Massachusetts
As if Boston wasn’t appealing enough, the display of foliage at this time of year makes it doubly irresistible. Wander along the Charles River, take a ride on the Swan Boats, or just sit back in the Public Garden and stare at the burst of autumnal color. Luxuriant foliage and the sounds of nature make it hard to believe you are in the middle of a major city. The best time for seeing the autumn leaves is from late September through the middle of October.

Vermont is synonymous with fabulous forests, and Burlington is one of the best places to see them at their best. Walk a short distance from Church Street Marketplace and you’ll find yourself at Waterfront Park, where a stroll along the shores of Lake Champlain will leave you mesmerised by the reflection of burnished leaves with the mountains in the distance. The best time for leaf-peeping here is from the middle of September through the middle of October.
